I keep wondering how we don't do beauty products review being an all women site. This is my first review and I hope to do many more as I recently realised my love for skin care products. I'll be reviewing Lotus Sun Safe SunBlock Cream which claims to be sweat and water proof with UVA and UVB protection giving SPF 30.
Packaging: The product comes in form of a small tube with patented Lotus look. The flip cap works fine. It can be easily carried around in your bag and the lotion won't spill.
Price: Rs. 195 for 50 gms. and Rs. 275 for 100 gms.
Texture & Consistency: The cream is neither too thick nor too runny, providing with a perfect consistency. It glides on smoothly and gets absorbed by the skin within few minutes giving a matte finish.
Fragrance: The lotion has a very subtle hint of a fragrance which I personally loved. It is very mild and doesn't last long.
Suitable For: On the cover, it says it is suitable for all skin types. If you have dry skin, need not worry. People with acne prone and oily skin can try it, too.It worked very well for me. If you have normal skin, you're blessed. Try on any product, you needn't think much.
Performance: For a skin like mine, trying a new product becomes a game of Mine-Sweeper. I get acne really soon and my skin classifies for sensitive and oily. Initially, I had a fear at the back of my mind. But I have been using it since past 4 months and I haven't faced any problems yet. The tube is almost over and I'm going to buy the next one.
The cream doesn't leave a whitish cast unlike other sun blocks. Win! For a few minutes it leaves a thin layer which gets absorbed pretty fast.
A small quantity is good enough for your face and neck. I apply it on hands and legs, too. The tube lasted for almost 4 months. It is non-greasy as the company claims.
Regarding it being sweat-proof, double check. The product is specially formulated for Indian summer and in my city the climate is very humid, thus under the sun, my skin gets too sweaty easily. This lotion survived that. Although, I don't think it is water-proof. You'll have to re-apply if you wash your face or stay outdoors for more than 5 hours.
And, no, I didn't get tanned.Duh! SPF 30 stands good for almost every place except for a few parts in India where you'd need higher SPF.
Final Verdict: It easily scores 4 on 5.
I have finally found a perfect sun block.
