The Purple Balloon

Posted by Keirthana at 10:00 PM 16 comments

Pre-Script: This is a narration of a very simple incident, but one which sometimes get overlooked in the daily huff-puff.

"Please?" She tried to convince him for one last time, with her cute puppy eyes. He smiled and said, "Baby, it is for your good only na? You will become really upset if something happens to it on the way back home." She pouted and turned away to look at the lovely helium balloons that the balloon vendor was selling in the corner. The balloons were purple in color and were just so cute that she could not take her eyes off them. She really wanted to have one of them. Every kid in the park had one and she wanted one too, though she was no kid. Only he would treat her as a kid and pamper her. But now, he is not buying her the balloon. His reason was that they had to take the public transport for the return ride and surely a helium balloon would not be able to take the toll of the Sunday evening crowd.

She kept pouting hoping that it would change his mind. He couldn't help laugh at her kiddishness. She is so child-like. They went boating and that diverted her mind off the balloon. The boating experience was awesome. The lake was huge and the pedal boat just smoothed its way over the tiny waves of water, creating ripples around them. The sun was retiring for the day and the moon was arriving for the night. The scene was just too beautiful. They took snaps to freeze those moments in time. Afterwards, they ate the delicious chat at the chat corner and looked around at the kids who had come to the park. She loved looking at the kids and he loved looking at her.

Finally it was time for them to leave the park. She stole one last glance at the balloons waving beautifully. She wanted to ask him again, but she knew he was right. She was childish when it comes to these things and she knew that. As they got to the entrance, he said that he needed to use the washroom. She also needed to freshen up. So they agreed to meet at the entrance and went their ways. She came back in 5 mins and looked around. There was no sign of him. She waited for 10 more mins. Nope. She began getting nervous. What's taking him so long? She wondered. She will not be able to go and search for him in this crowd. If she did that, she would get lost too and she definitely did not know her way around the place. And then there he was, making way through his crowd. She heaved a sigh of relief. And then she noticed, the purple balloon in his hands and the wide smile on his face. Her eyes went wide with surprise and she was too shocked to tell anything. She gave him a big hug, that told him everything that she wanted to.

On the way back home, in the bus, they saw a cute kid. The little girl kept glancing at her and her purple balloon with her cute eyes. She understood that kid wanted the balloon. But, she loved it so much and he bought it for her as a surprise. So, she could not make up her mind about giving it away. She gave the kid a chocolate instead, but the girl did not take the chocolate and instead kept looking at her balloon. The bus reached their stop and they had to get down. Just when they were getting down, she glanced back at the kid who had the same longing in her eyes. She asked the driver to wait for a minute, made her way through the crowd and gave the balloon to the little girl. The girl's eyes widened with joy and she took it immediately. The girl's parents modestly told her that she didn't have to do it. She just smiled and got off the bus. She looked at him in the hope he would understand. He hugged her and said, "Now, that's my girl". The day was awesome for them and she could not take her mind off from the joy that she saw in the little girl's eyes on being offered the balloon. She understood what giving can do, however small it might be.

Even small things are capable of giving infinite joy. When we realise that, we inch closer to mastering love and life. What do you think?

Until later,

Traffic of my life!

Posted by Chandana at 8:56 PM 4 comments

This is more of a been-there-done-that kinda post. Every city has its own complaints about its traffic. Since I am living in traffic-horror every single day here in Hyderabad so I thought why not make a story out of that too!
1. Auto Drivers:
They always think that from all the horns blaring around them, none of them are aimed at them. I really want to learn that from them. Blocking and ignoring a particular sound/voice that is blaring/screaming right in your ears - that would be a useful talent in life!

2. Car drivers:
They hate Bike Riders while stuck in traffic because riders get to squeeze by more easily. They hate bike readers because they get to cut in front of you just when the light turns green. They hate bike riders because they make it so damn hard to overtake with all their zig-zagging.

3. Bike riders: They hate Car Drivers because drivers get to sit in AC while they're out in the sun (rain, smoke, or dust). Muhahahaha *car driver points and laughs*

4. Bus drivers: They don't have AC nor can they squeeze by. They purposefully squeeze you out of every inch of road you have if they can help it. Enough said.

5. Just as the light turns green, there is that one last pedestrian who always HAS to run in front of you just as you're taking off. Always! Some day I am going to run smack into you and you'll fly off the road and ITS ALL YOUR FAULT. So there. Don't say I dint warn you.

6. The Honkers: They are such pleasant people. How else can you explain the fact that continuous honking sounds like music to them? Granted it drives everyone else crazy, but hey! As long as its music to my ears you all can shut the f**k up. Arrgghh! I hate them! Yes the light changed to green. I am not blind. I can see that. Give me a second to move forward. One second is all am asking for. I too want to go wherever it is that I am going 'as soon as possible' *rolls-eyes*

7. Dancing lights: Yeah that's right. Why don't you shine the damn headlight right in my eyes? You and your high beam in the middle of the city. People! have the minimum courtesy to dip them especially when you are stuck face to face in a narrow road. Else dont complain if i bang right into you (and hopefully break the damm headlight) because I cant see two feet in front of me!

.....just the beginning!! (Part II)

"Is there someone else?"
She didnt reply. None of them spoke. The silence was killing her. It was peircing her throat and she couldnt breathe. His eyes were fixed on her. He knew what the answer was, but was waiting to hear it from her, thinking, she may change her mind, she may prove him wrong. He wanted to be proved wrong. He wished he was wrong and she slap him for his ugly thoughts. But she didnt. She just didnt say anything. Nothing at all. He waited. It felt like eternity. He felt like shaking her wildly so as to make her speak. The silence was suffocating him. He couldnt stand it any longer. He asked again....
"Is there someone else you've been thinking of??"
This time she did speak.
"Yes..."
It was a loud whisper. Loud enough for him to hear it. He wasnt shocked or sad. He felt nothing. Nothing. He felt numb. He had no feelings left. Just numb.
"Who is he?"
His voice had no emotions left now. It was just a voice. A voice stiff as steel. A lifeless voice.
"John..."
Another loud whisper. He nodded. Her eyes never left the ground.
"Since when.....?"
"Last month. You know whenever I went to hangout with him...."
He nodded again.
"So.... I guess, now there is no reason for us to be together anymore."
"No."
This time her voice was not a whisper. It was shaky. It was as if she was trying to hold back the lump forming in her throat. Her eyes still fixed to the ground, tears streaming down her cheeks. She didnt move. The only movement in her body was the tears running through her cheeks. They were out of control now and she didnt bother to stop them. None of them made efforts to hide the pain they felt.

"I wish you all the best with him... hope you find true love with him."
She shook her head, tears still blinding her view.
"No...." She managed without breaking her voice. She continued,
"....he has a gf. They are together for 4 years now. I am not doing this to be with him...!"
"ohh.. okay..."
He was clueless now. Still, the fact that she had made up her mind to end their one year long relationship was enough for him. He knew she woudnt change her mind with pleadings or persuasions. It never worked with her. She always made her decisions, no matter how weird or clueless they were.
He concentrated at her again. She still looked the same. Beautiful, just like she had been when he first saw her. He wondered what went wrong. He knew he'll never know. He still tried thinking. He could never figure her out... and today was just the same! She was shaking now. Tears covered her face, but still she looked beautiful, pure, untouched!
He drew a step closer and held her in his arms. She was still shaking. He wondered why was he so calm. He was breaking up with the only girl he ever loved, and still he was calm?! But then, thats how things had always been when she was around. He always managed to surprise himself when with her. She was now sobbing uncontrollably. He did not stop her, just held her in his arms. He wondered again, maybe this was the last time he was hugging her.
"I.. am.. sorrryyy......"
Her muffled voice brought him back to reality. He just held her more tightly, feeling still no pain.

"Dont you hate me??" Her eyes were bloodshot.
"No." He shook his head. Smiled at her.
"All I want to say is.... Just dont mess up your life like this! Please... "
She still saw the same love in his eyes. She cursed herself!
"I've already messed it up...! No more!"
He nodded.
"Come.. let me drop you home!"
She walked back to the car silently, her hands locked in his. She wondered what made her feel so much more closer to him than in the last one year! She couldnt figure it out. She didnt need a reason. She just felt closer to him now.
"Are you still gonna talk to me?"
He started the engine and looked at her. She got her answer.

They had overcome the biggest barier in a relationship. They no longer needed words to express themselves. Even though they broke up officially, they were now bound by a much powerful force of the universe. They both knew it was not the end... just the beginning of a new relationship between them. A relationship which didnt need any explaination, any name, any expectations! It was something between them today that they couldnt achieve in the past one year!

Yes or No....!

Yes.
Yes Yes Yes.
Yes, the answer to the question is a big Yes.

The question : Whether to keep or not the gifts or things gifted by your ex-girlfriends/boyfriends.
The answer   : Yes.

The dilemma keeps on striking each-day, everyday from inside. The question, as to keep the memories or discard them away keep bugging you from inside every-time you come across them. What to do and what not to do! Whom to tell and whom not to tell! Keep it ? Throw it?
What?

Love Quotes

You don't love him/her anymore, you don't think or care about that person anymore but still you have his/her memories with you. You still carry the wallet gifted by her, you still put on the perfume gifted by him, you still have the soft toy gifted by her on your table, you still wear the ear-rings gifted by him,you still read the book she had gifted you once and you still use the key-chain that he had got for you.

You don't care about that person anymore with that earlier intensity. You don't wish to know about the whereabouts of that person anymore. You don't want him/her anymore in your life. You are done with that person but still you carry his/her memories with you.

One of my friends showed me his ex-girlfriends ear-rings and bracelet that he carries with himself to till date. They broke up some 2-3 years back. The guy had secretly kept those things of hers and keeps it with him every-time. Once in conversation with him,the question aroused, should he keep them?
Answer is, Yes.

Though it's my perspective about the scenario and I would gladly like to be corrected if I am wrong.
Why does one has to throw away the things gifted by their ex's? Why? You loved that person once, right? You were madly and irrevocably in love with that soul. For you he/she meant the whole world. You would have done anything just to make him/her happy. You cared from your heart for that person, right? You never left a chance to make memorable memories with that person. You would have brought the whole world at his/her feet if he/she would have asked you to do so. You had once waited for all the things gifted to you, you accepted them with much happiness once, right? So now why even the thought of throwing them away?

Throw them if you have been in a bad relationship, if you just couldn't connect any good memories with them. But then also, try looking at the brighter side, and believe me, there's always one in every thing. You just have to look a bit harder to find the brighter one. A s the darker part always try shadowing the brighter part.

Throw away the gifts, cards and stuff if you hate that person for some or the other reason now. Discard them all if you don't want to recall that person's memories in your life anymore. Erase all his/her footprints from your life and surroundings if they make you suffer. But then, does being in Love with somebody made you suffer? If yes, then you were fooled for being infatuated and you thought it was Love! You were in Love but the other was just playing!

I, personally would like to suggest to keep the memories with you if you have that mental level that you can control your foolish inner-self from being hurt every-time by seeing those things.
I would like to suggest him to keep all the stuff he has of her ex-girlfriend if doesn't hates her. Keep them. Keep the memories. See it and feel the aroma of love for somebody else if not for her. Don't see it as something bad, reminding you of the bad phase you had with the person to whom those things belong to. See that as somebody whom once loved you and cared for you and had got some of her love and care for you in the form of that gift. Take it as a token of your Love, the real reason why you kept it, the real reason behind still keeping it. Mark it as a symbol of Love you once felt or still feel for somebody.
Keep the ear-rings, keep the bracelet. See it as a token of love. Don't see it as her if you don't want to.Keep it for life or pass it on to somebody you would Love in future,if that person can understand the value of those articles. Keeping such things is in itself a big deal. Not everybody does that. You did that because you felt something and maybe you still do.

I still have the photo of somebody I loved. I won't delete it however coming across it does hurts me. But the thing I shared with him once was pure and real from my side. And no matter what the outcome of that thing was, what all consequences I and he bore because of that, I still Love to remember sometimes that somebody did really cared for me once. Though his existence doesn't bothers me anymore but still I don't feel like deleting his photo, that I have with me with him still ignorant of this fact. He too might be having something of me, if he really cared. So this is not bad. This not something to hide, though revealing also should be avoided to all. This is the your true spirit celebrating your true Love, even when the other person ditched it!

Attaching yourself to somebody's inanimate object like a snap together, a gift or any such thing is no foolishness. It shows how much you were into that other person. It's the feelings that are attached. It's the unsaid words that matters. It's the bond that you shared with somebody that is binding you with that thing. It's no bad to keep it. Keep it and cherish it. Make new memories with it rather than remembering the old ones. Life is about moving on. Keep walking and keep smiling, this should be the attitude.

Many will come and many shall leave but dearer are the ones whose memories shall never leave.

that Red sweater....! (Part I)

Posted by Aditi Ray at 10:24 PM 24 comments
"I was expexting your text and you were expecting mine! Wow! Now we have expectations from each other..! Now, when did that happen?? ;)"
"Hehehe.. I guess the long walk yesterday did that!" she said giggling.

She was talking to him with the enthusiasm which lacked while she spoke to her bf! They spoke about almost everything in d world..frm music, movies, emotions, frnds, hobbies, passions, career goals, experiences, views to just plain PJs with incessant energy n enthusiasm! They understood each other in silence. They didnt any longer need words to express themselves, just the look in their eyes did that. She hadnt met him long ago..no..hardly a few weeks with last saturday morning spent completely with him on marine drive n then loitering on the roads of colaba. She never thought getting lost on a random road in colaba could be so memorable..bt it was!

She was secretly feeling guilty for being so happy with another man and not her bf. She was secretly wishing if he could be her man. He would have been just 'perfect'! Tall, strong, smart, sensitive, intelligent, brilliantly brilliant, poet, guitarist, a sense of humor that could make her giggle more than anyone else. Just perfect in all senses!

She wanted to tell him that she was falling for his sincerity, honesty and brilliance. She, herself being a chatterbox, who couldnt keep quiet even for a mili-second when with her friends or bf, could spend hours listening to him speaking, just blankly looking to him and nodding, smiling once in a while, blushing if he said something about her, and just staring at him, with the pretence of listening to him, her eyes locked to his, not leaving his eyes even for a mili-second.

Somewhere down there, she felt guilty for adoring him more than any guy in her life. She even posed for him when he asked her to, to click her pictures (she never did that for her bf! NEVER!). She told him everything without hesitating, everything.... except one thing - the fact that she had a bf! She felt guilty about being so close to him. She had no right to be so close to another man when she was already in a relationship with a guy for more than a year!

'Why now?' she wondered to herself often while thinking about him. Yes! these days she thought about him and not her bf! This disturbed her, she tried focussing her thoughts on her bf, but ended up comparing them both! John was better than her bf in every step! It made her sad, thinking why didnt she met him before. Thinking about her bf, her one year long relationship, the happy times, she strongly thought to herself, she wasnt going to let this sudden new feeling affect her one year long relationship!

She had been having fights with her bf  right from the day she started spending time with John. She behaved arrogantly, rudely. Talking to him and suddenly going silent. When asked for a reason she simply cut the call. She was very different these days with her bf. She didnt like his company anymore! It was someone else that she was thinking of. Whenever her bf tried to ask her something, she fired at him verbally, making him quiet. It was not him that she wanted any longer! Later she felt guilty about her behaviour but was afraid of her true feelings coming out. She didnt want to hurt him either! He was a great guy, but............

She told herself she wont meet John again, or reply back his texts, or talk to him for long hours, or hang out with him ever! She wasnt supposed to do all this! It was like a sin. She couldnt cheat on her bf! Neither could she break off with him.... after all she had met John just a month ago. She took a deep breathe and took her cellphone out. Yes, she would call her bf and say sorry for her recent behaviour. He will forgive her. They will be happy again. There was no place for John in her life...

Just when her cellphone beeped. It was John.
 "U free tomoro mornin??"
she immidiately replied, "yup..m free! :)"
"Joinin me tomoro @ marine drive? Early mornin... just lik last tym? ;)"
 "oh sure! thts gr8! :D"
 "K.. wil pik u up frm ur place @ 6.30am! B ready..n b on tym!"
 "okay.. I'l b ready! :)"
 "cya tomoro den.. :)"
 "yep.. gn!"
"btw... wear tht red sweater, its gonna b cold at tht tym, plus u look fab in it! :D"
 "okay! :D"
she blushed... forgot about the call she had to make. She headed to her wardrobe with a smile on her face... looking for that red sweater!!

Hello Darlings!!

I had written this poem around 3 years back for my Sister with whom i had a fight and we were not on talking terms.... Thought of sharing it here...

I want to be with you,
but your millions of miles away.
i wish you would call just to ask about my day.
it would make things so much better if i could hear you voice,
I guess i can't complain too much, after all this was my choice.
i wish i could hold you in my arms and look in to your eyes.
i promise i will always be true to you and never tell you lies.
its so hard to go to sleep without you by my side.
my tears are the only thing ill ever try to hide.
i lie awake in bed as the tears stream down my face,
they keep going until the hit my pillow case.

I Miss You...

It's all about giving, giving and giving.....!

Posted by Smita at 5:24 PM 5 comments
                                                                  The art of giving.

Wonderful topic to end the year but before my thoughts start flowing, a big Thank you to the admins for coming up with such insightful topics for discussions. Not only do these topics help making the darling to darling bond and the DOV to reader bond stronger but also help darlings individually, in discovering one's lost spirit and realizing the very true person we all used to be, before getting engaged into all the rush and hush of the world.
With every single topic announced here, I try to remember and write with my true spirit, the spirit with which I was born and try to forget the bad spirit this cruel world and life had made out of that pure soul.

Giving is a very strong word and includes a wide scope of explaining what it actually means. Giving is simply giving. Imparting something to a living soul or to this world, that was once yours or you were once related with and now you chose somebody to be it's sole owner. Give somebody a smile and see the magic of it spreading it on the other person's face. Give somebody a hug and sense the happiness you will make that other person feel by doing it. Give a needy beggar a coin and see the genuine smile you will receive. Give a child a candy and see the love you will be showered the next moment. It's all about giving, giving and giving...!

But then, it's also important as to what you are giving. As we all are well versed so let's not venture into that side, let's just celebrate the topic with the spirit we all are bound on Darlings Of Venus. Let's venture into Women and Giving.
Women is to giving or let's say Giving is to Women. Since childhood we girls are taught, give and so shall you receive. Giving is what we learn from our mothers. They give us our daily meals, hence we girls become their better servers once we grow up. The way they serve our family members, we do the same.We give our smiles, our love, our care, our time, our devotion to every single person in our life. But we never use the harsh word, Give, because we simply just don't Give, under some copulsion or fear, but we love to Give. Hence we call it Loving and not Giving.

The time till we are married, we Give love and happiness to our parents, siblings, friends and relatives and after we are married, we Give love and happiness to our new parents, friends and relatives. The fact of leaving our home bothers but the spirit of Giving is not bothered. It doesn't matters to us as to whom we are giving, what matters to us is whether we are giving or not. Women imbibes power to win over all just by giving love. We love to give and this giving is not at all done in some expectation of getting something in return. Trust me, whenever you are served by a woman, she's not expecting something in return, even if she complains of not being served in return. Women posses little or no pride where love is concerned. Pride ia a quality often on their lips, but not apparent in their actions.

It's the nature of Women to be so. We don't complain, we are simply made to Give and not to expect something to accept. We love to give Love and surely do we love when given back something in Love. That's why it is said, only a little of His love is required to woo a her while all of Her is required to woo Him.

Now to wind up, forgive me if I hadn't been able to convey my thoughts well or if I did stray away from the topic, (It's been long since I have written so pardon me for being away from DOV and Blogging. Also am sorry for writing so late on the topic of discussion). All I wanted to state was to celebrate the pure giving nature of a Women. Proud to be a girl.
Happy New Year to all the readers.

My parents are STILL on facebook.

Posted by Chandana at 12:00 PM 16 comments

While the whole world has moved on from Facebook to twitter, there are some people who are still trying to get the hang of Facebook. Don't believe me? Read on!

I started using Facebook properly only in 2010. And by properly I mean stalking people, checking their 'exotic trip to the island' photos, trying to guess who her boyfriend was in the group photo, checking out her sari and makeup in her wedding photos (and bitching about it because I wasn't invited), secretly being jealous of all those who were vacationing in Greece and Swiss Alps and liking every damn thing in my path. Phew! Did I miss anything? No? Okay then!

Before all this, I only had an account, a dummy account. We had no access to internet in office and I worked close to 12 hours a day including weekends. We would spend hours in office making fun of "those people" who seemed to find it impossible to go about their day without sharing every second of their life on fb.. Updating their status messages every other second, posting photos everyday.. I thought I would never ever do that until i discovered it was only a lack of internet connection that was stopping me. So it was no surprise when I jumped onto the bandwagon with the rest of the guys.. it went on for a while.. was fun, entertaining, great way to catch up on gossip.. until.....

.... my parents ( read plural ) were on FB...

Initial shock led to some real good fun ( kidding!... about the shock part not the fun part )

Dad - What is this wall? What does wall mean? Hey is this your profile? Show me your friends list.. I want to see...what was that girl's name.. in school? That girl... who always got first rank..? Hey this guy is that guy.. he dint give those farewell photos.. that guy right?.. What was his name? Hey she looks the same! where is she now.. what is she doing?
Who is this boy? Why is he commenting on your pics? Who is this boy? And this? Why are there so many boys? (By now I am pulling my hair out)

Okay okay no more boy questions but what is this wall?

:|

Thats my dad - A hundred questions, no patience to wait for answers, and Me- no patience to answer.
But he got the hang of it pretty quick, his list of friends is increasing day by day and threatning to take over my number! Apart from ocassionally worrying and questioning me about some weird status message that I put up, my dad is a very cool friend to have on my list. Much much better than my mom.

Ok here we go. Mom. On facebook. BIG mistake.

1. She forgets the id with which she should login. Reason being she has so many accounts. (one yahoo + one gmail = too many to remember)
2. The moment she logs in, she'll call me, and the doubts begin.
"Ok last time. now tell me.... how do I go to my wall?"
"Is this my wall or your wall?"
"If I am on my wall, why am I seeing your updates?"
"But I see your updates on your wall also!"
"How do i post on your wall? (grinning) I used the right word na.. posting na.. correct?"

Just break the damn wall already!

(shouting from the hall.. and am in my room)
mom - ok after commenting, what am I supposed to do?
me - (confused irritated expression) what do you mean? log off, browse, do whatever you want!
mom - I want to see the comment I put...
me - (grumble and get up) you are supposed to click on 'post comment'.. only then it will be posted na..  obvious na...
mom - ok where is it.. I cant see...
me - Mommmmm!!! scroll down!!!!
mom - ok ok dont shout.. ok done.. thats all..?

Trust me. She enjoys me screaming at her.

3. She has 11 friends. That includes all our family.
4. She wants to learn to upload pictures.. it takes me 2 days to teach her after which she promptly forgets. And calls me when am on the way to a movie with doubts. I come home and end up selecting and uploading all the pics. ( Though I crib, we spend many happy hours wasting time together *grin* )
5. And as if to prove my point, she just called me and said "Hey it seems Uma aunty commented on some photos.. check and tell me.. and reply to them.. bye"

:|

So they are on Facebook. They are all over my blog. And now my mom wants to learn twitter. God save me!

We Women....Little hard , little easy.

Incident 1
"The one thing I don't enjoy doing with you is eating",he said.
"Eating? Why? Because I don't eat much?",she was surprised with this sudden conclusion jump of his'.
"No, not because of that",he still kept it short.
"Then?",she was now more curious to know the real reason.
"I don't enjoy eating with you because when I eat from your plate you don't eat from mine in return", came his explanation.
"What...But I don't eat not that I don't want to but because I never feel the urge to eat anything from your plate. I never felt that I should eat from yours because I feel well content with whatever I have in my plate."she replied back.
"Yea.that I know. That you don't mind people eating from your plate but when the other person doesn't does the same with me I feel a bit awkward.",came his explanation.
"But that's formality you see that's not being frank with the person you are with. And come-on. it's been more than 3 years that we have been together but still you said this. Totally unexpected.",and the conversation ended with both of them not talking for few minutes.
These men think we don't do what we feel like doing. But that's not the case. We have our limits and we women are well satiated with whatever we are provided with, at times of-course, leave aside the jewellery and shopping stuff but these men, they think that we don't feel content like they never are.

Incident 2
"Hey", and he slapped her, though it was just as if he touched his hand on her face, a very swift slap it was but it was a slap!
She smiled,"Why do you always have to slap me, huh",she asked.
"Just like that. I love slapping you actually",came the clever answer with the wicked smile.
"Your cheeks are simply so chubby that I can't really hold my hands back from slapping you. Please please allow me to give you one tight one na, I always hit you softly, let's go for a hard one na Please.",he requested.
"One tight slap!",she freaked.
"No, are you mad. No ways. I allow you to slap me doesn't mean you can  actually slap me!",she backed out.
"Please na, in return you too can slap me. Promise. I won't say anything. Slap me as many times as you want to. I won't be offended, I promise",and he lifted her hand to touch his cheeks, telling her she had the liberty to slap him now.
She backed her hand backwards.
"No! Why would I slap you",she giggled, though she was scared too as she knew he was a guy who could do anything and right now all she needed to be afraid of, was his idea of slapping her!
"But I always hit you na, so you too please hit me too na. I will feel good! Come-on, don't be scared of me",he joked!
"Noo...I don't feel like hitting you that's why I don't do it. Am not scared of anybody, especially you!", she replied.
"Really, you are not scared of me!",he asked.
"Yes, am not!",came the reply
And then came another slap, a tight one this time!
Why men think we women are weak or afraid of showing them our strength. Of-course we are physically not so strong as they are but the little incidents, like the one mentioned above, where we are pushed to show our strength are not really the deciding stages as to how much strong we women are, as we Women symbolizes Love and support.:)

We Women are made to shower love, bound purity of soul and spread happiness. We have it in our nature to absorb all the pain and we are blessed with the magical power to convert it into blissful happy notes of life.

Don't Love Me Anymore

I was standing before my School Church alone. The First bell had gone and I should have been running towards my class, but I was scared...I didn't want to go back. They would be there. My entire so-called group of friends. They had shunned me and abandoned me, for no reason. I had stooped low, begged for friendship, company and an explanation. None was given to me. But like always, I didn't utter a word, not a single tear...I was too timid to counteract, to question. I was used to acting without questioning anyway.  I turned back to the closed doors of the Church, closing my eyes tightly and asking God to give me some self-esteem, but He was busy listening to the smarter people next to me. I sighed and turned to walk away.

"Hey, chal main tere saath chalti hoon." [Here, I'll walk with you] Sreeja said. She was in my class...and we had struck a silent friendship. She offered her hand and I took it like the proverbial straw. Things changed then. I completely left my group and started hanging out with Sreeja and her friends. My other friends commented, "Jaa na be tu, usi ke saath reh poorey din. Why do you even come near us?" [Eh, Go away no, you. Stay with her whole day]. I as usual had been trying to amend whatever unknown things I had done and was shooed away like a stray dog. At home I was lonely, now at school I had no one. But then I saw Sreeja waving at me...and I got up and walked up to her. Her friends loved me. 12th Grade had brought me closer to her. But at home, my mother saw how terribly lonely I was. I broke down before her, on my knees I cried. My mother couldn't do anything except look at me crumbling. Loneliness, Depression, my mother didn't know the terms...but she could see, how terribly wronged I was.

She let me close to Sreeja. Sreeja had saved me from the most disastrous social death.

This was almost 7 years back. We stood by each other through severe tests of time. I was her strength, she was my weakness. We passed always. Never, ever, I had thought, that the time would change something in me, that would question my belief in the word *Best Friend*.

She met her guy. Every time I came down to Bhopal, if she was there, I used to meet her....and I met her guy then. She was smitten. In love with him. He obviously loved her too...I was proud of him. No, this isn't about Him or Her or even me. This is about just Sreeja and me. I started to drift away. I was so caught up in my college life, I couldn't talk to her everyday. I felt guilty. I told her so. She never thought otherwise, though on one occasion she did mention that I had changed, had become colder. I justified my actions (of not texting or calling her daily) as  being occupied too much. However, whenever she called me or if I did, when I felt guilty or when I had balance, it never felt like there was something amiss. Honestly though, sometimes I felt, I wasn't giving my 100%. I used to have this feeling that anyone who comes to our lives comes for a short time, to show us a way and when that purpose is over, they leave. I had a feeling that Sreeja will also drift away, but I knew I wanted it to happen. Because...I wasn't feeling happy. Earlier the things I used to feel for her, I worked towards them genuinely. Now, when I call her, I force myself so that she isn't hurt or doesn't feel that I am ignoring her.

I do love her, but I don't feel it anymore. I would jump before a train if it touches her, but that would be more like I...I would do it out of habit, out of the need to protect her, but...I am confused. I usually sort out my feelings on my own...but this has been bothering me for a while. I have two choices - either I keep the way things are going, occasionally texting and calling her, letting things be OR let myself drift away. I don't know and I need something, anything to assure me that with time, I will accept this too as a part of life. Am I being too analytical or practical? What should I do?
