Her

Posted by CookieCrumbsInc. at 8:50 PM

One person
She makes all the difference

Her presence can make your days
Full of beams - sunlit ecstasy...

She can make the most
Boring lectures pass by
In a wee minute...

 Her chatter can make the
Unpalatable canteen food
Go down like butter on toast...

Her warm hug can make all the world
And all its problems;
Relegate them to background noise...

The delicate, floral scent of her
Can invoke memories of a night
So special, so complete...

Her coy look can turn your intestines around,
Make your insides dance to
A primal beat...

Her eyes that can look into your very soul,
sizes you up and all your problems
And gives you a wink to make everything better...

The ringing laughter, one that raises goose bumps on your arms
Comes tinkling out when she wriggles to your tickles,
Making you break into uncharacteristic giggles...

And her absence?
Sucks the life out of life,
The beauty out of beauty,
The love out of love,
And the light out of light.

P.S: I do not intend to scare you with my horrible poems, it wasn't intended to be one nor am I any good at making poems or making them rhyme; they are just random lines written during a supremely boring lecture and seemed perfect for D.O.V:)

Okay, I totally love this one!!! :D I mean...you have captured the essence of what a new love...a woman...does in someone's life! :D Poems don't have to be poetic :P You know what I mean??? This is beautiful!

I agree with MSM. Good poetry need not necessarily have a rhyming scheme.
This one is very well written! :)

Boring lectures usually ignite the writer side. Even I have written some pieces during lectures which bore me to the core. :D

@ MSM, thanks girl!! Well I have read other people's poems and this one didn't come close, hence the disclaimer.

@ SUB, :D LOL, no, no good poet worth his salt writes such un-rhyming poetry, do they:D JK, thank you so much.

@ Vinati, thanks milady!
And yeah, aren't boring lectures most productive for writers like us:D ;P

@ Suruchi, thanks Madame, means a ton coming from some one like you, I just spent the whole of the afternoon reading through your awesome posts:)
